Another Earthquake Rattles Border Area

A magnitude 3.3 earthquake struck overnight near the U.S.-Mexico border, but no damage or injuries were immediately reported in the San Diego area.

The earthquake was recorded at 11:20 p.m. Tuesday and was centered about 9 miles west-southwest of Calexico and 10 miles west of Mexicali, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A magnitude 3.6 earthquake struck earlier Tuesday at 2:56 a.m. about 9 miles west of Calexico and 11 miles south-southwest of El Centro. There were also no immediate reports of damage or injuries in the San Diego area from that quake.
