Poway Woman Killed In Menifee Pile-Up

POSTED: 2:04 pm PDT October 31, 2009

A 38-year-old Poway woman is dead as a result of a late-night four-car pileup in Menifee, the Riverside County coroner said Saturday.

The woman, whose name was not released, was critically injured in the four-car crash Friday and died at about 4:45 a.m. at the Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar from related injuries, according to Riverside County Fire Department spokesperson Jody Hagemann and the coroner.

The collision occurred at about 11:32 p.m. Friday on the 215 Freeway south of Newport Road in Menifee, Hagemann said. Three other people were treated for moderate to minor injuries, according to Hagemann.

The victim's name is being withheld pending notification of her family. The cause of the collision is still under investigation, Hagemann said.
