Woman Accused Of Stabbing Transient In Custody

SAN DIEGO -- A homeless woman accused of stabbing another female transient during a fight in the Core-Columbia area is in custody Friday, police said.The stabbing in the 800 block of G Street happened around 9:50 p.m. Thursday, according to San Diego police Officer David Stafford.The unidentified victim was taken to UCSD Medical Center, but her knife wound was not considered life-threatening, Stafford said.
The name of the woman arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon was not immediately released. The motive for the fight was also not released.
