Ocean Beach Garage Destroyed By Fire

SAN DIEGO -- A detached garage and a large boat were heavily damaged by a fire Sunday in Ocean Beach, but no one was hurt.The blaze was reported around 11:15 a.m. on Greene Street near Ebers Street. The garage, located off an alley, was fully aflame when firefighters arrived.While most of the flames were extinguished in about 15 minutes, firefighters continued to pour water onto the boat, described as a cabincruiser.
According to San Diego Fire-Rescue, Hazmat crews were sent to the scene because gasoline spilled from tanks in the area. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
