Controlled Burn Scheduled For MCAS Miramar

MIRAMAR, Calif. -- Firefighters at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar will conduct a controlled burn this weekend, base officials announced Friday.The burn is scheduled to take place between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. Saturday, and flames and smoke may be visible from nearby roadways, according to MCAS's public affairs office.
The purpose of a controlled burn is to rid an area of dry brush that could fuel a wildfire.
