Help Sought For Sea Lion Tangled In Fishing Line

SAN DIEGO -- A local woman is trying to find anyone that can help rescue a female sea lion caught in fishing line in La Jolla, 10News reported.Angela Harrell, owner of Hike Bike Kayak Sports, took photos of the sea lion with fishing line apparently around its neck and said a fishing lure is possibly near the animal's eye.Harrell told 10News she has called several groups along the Pacific coast that specialize in rescuing marine mammals, but all groups have told her to contact SeaWorld.SeaWorld told Harrell they cannot rescue the sea lion because it is not safely accessible. However, Harrell contends that the area is accessible by foot, as the sea lion is on the rocky shore around a cove area.
SeaWorld said they would rescue the sea lion if it moves to a safer place.
