SAN DIEGO -- The Pentagon released the name today of a 27-year-old Camp Pendleton-based Marine killed in combat last week in Afghanistan.Staff Sgt. Aaron J. Taylor of Bovey, Minn., died in Helmand Province on Friday, according to the Department of Defense.He was a member of Marine Wing Support Squadron 372, Marine Wing Support Group 37, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, I Marine Expeditionary Force.
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger released a statement praising Taylor's "commitment to serve America and willingness to lay down his life to protect the freedoms we enjoy."Flags at the state Capitol will be lowered to half-staff in honor of Taylor.
