SAN DIEGO -- Two armed men robbed an El Cerrito recycling center Saturday, but left without harming anyone, police said. The men walked up to the 54th Recycling Center on 5496 University Ave. around 9:15 a.m., told the clerk they had a gun and demanded cash, said San Diego police Officer Brad Ruff. The clerk saw a black and silver handgun tucked in one of the suspect's waistband, Ruff said. The clerk could not gain access to the cash, so the suspects grabbed a laptop and a cell phone from the business and fled on foot, Ruff said.Witnesses told police they saw the men get into a green Chevrolet Blazer, he said.
