Boy, 16, Accused Of San Marcos Rape Arrested

SAN MARCOS -- A 16-year-old boy is in Juvenile Hall Friday on suspicion of raping a fellow student at San Marcos High School, authorities said.The boy was arrested Thursday morning in connection with the alleged sexual assault that occurred May 12 behind a business complex near the school campus, San Diego County sheriff's Detective Pete Carrillo said.A 14-year-old girl reported the alleged rape on Sept. 6, saying two 16- year-old boys were involved, Carrillo said. At the time, she declined to press charges, he said.Investigators later learned one of the two boys was a suspect in a previous sexual assault, involving a 13-year-old girl at another local school in January 2008. Around 10:30 a.m. Thursday, that boy was arrested on suspicion of multiple sexual assault charges, including rape by intoxication, Carrillo said.His name was withheld because he is a minor.
