Man Robs San Marcos Frozen Yogurt Shop

POSTED: 8:08 am PDT September 18, 2009

A man pushed his way into a frozen-yogurt shop in San Marcos early Friday and stole cash and keys, authorities said.

Two employees closing up at Froyo Love Yogurt at 330 S. Twin Oaks Valley Road around 12:15 a.m. when the thief knocked on a glass front door, San Diego County sheriff's Sgt. Mark Moreno said.

One of the employees opened the door to see what the man wanted and was pushed aside as the thief forced his way inside, according to Moreno.

He threatened to shoot the employee and made a motion to the rear of his pant waistband as if he was reaching for a gun, but no weapon was actually seen, Moreno said. The robber fled on foot after taking money from a cash register and keys to the business.

He was described as Hispanic, around 5 feet 6, with a medium build and a dark mustache. He wore black jeans, a black shirt and sunglasses, Moreno said.
