25 Vehicles Impounded At Chula Vista Checkpoint

CHULA VISTA, Calif. -- One person was arrested for drunken driving and 25 people had their vehicles impounded for driving without a valid license at a Chula Vista police checkpoint that was dismantled early Monday, police said.The checkpoint in the 1100 block of Eastlake Parkway was staffed from 6 p.m. Sunday until 2:00 Monday morning, according to Chula Vista police.In addition to the driver arrested for allegedly driving under the influence, three motorists were arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance, police said.A total of 33 citations were issued, a police statement said.
