Free Rides To 3 North County Colleges Offered

Breeze, Sprinter Promotion Begins Monday

POSTED: 6:31 am PDT August 24, 2009

Students and staff at three North County colleges will get free rides on Breeze buses and Sprinter trains during a fall semester promotion that begins Monday.

The North County Transit District's "Free Rides to College" promotion will be offered to students, staff and faculty holding identification cards from Cal State San Marcos, MiraCosta College and Palomar College.

The promotion will run weekdays only this week and next.

"Leaving the car at home gives students an opportunity to get to campus quickly, while also reducing the amount they would be spending on gas and parking permit fees," said Bob Campbell, chair of the NCTD board.

Palomar College and MiraCosta College student start class Monday. The CSUSM fall semester begins Aug. 31.
