United Service Organization Inc.
Since 1941 the USO Council of San Diego has been working to serve morale, welfare and educational needs of the men and women in the armed forces and their families. The United Service Organization functions in times of both war and peace with the efforts of many volunteers working 365 days a year. Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society
The mission of the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society is to provide, in partnership with the Navy and Marine Corps, financial, educational, and other assistance to members of the naval services of the United States, eligible family members, and survivors when in need; and to receive and manage funds to administer these programs. San Diego Armed Services YMCA
The San Diego Armed Services YMCA is a special branch of the YMCA whose only mission is to support and enhance the lives of local active duty military members and their families. The nonprofit social services organization supports military personnel and their families by providing programs and services that help strengthen young families as they learn and cope with the challenges of military life. They offer over 30 programs through their Family Outreach, Active Duty and Youth and Community Outreach departments. Military Outreach Ministry
Military Outreach Ministries is dedicated to helping military families cope with the challenges of a military lifestyle and the high cost of living in San Diego. Outreach services include: craft classes and activity groups for nonemployed mothers, along with free child care. Throughout the year the ministries donate children's clothing, baby formula, diapers, and other supplies such as car seats, and bassinets. The ministry also provide much needed transportation to medical appointments, as well as referrals to military support agencies and local churches. Programs are also set up to help new mothers going through childbirth while their husbands are deployed.They provide monthly food distributions and weekly bread distributions throughout the county as well.
