SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego County Sheriff's Department arrested two people accused of breaking into vacant homes to throw parties, 10News reported.Jovan Araujo, 21, and a 17-year-old boy were arrested in connection with at least three illegal parties held in the North County.Sheriff's Deputy Travis Golling responded to a home on Country Club Drive in San Marcos last Friday night, and told 10News, "When we arrived here, there were 20 to 25 cars in the driveway."
At the party, Golling asked around and was directed to Araujo."We found on his cell phone how to get to the party and the cost for people," said Golling.Deputies said the organizer got inside the home by breaking the windows, and now the property manager has chained the area off so no one else can go inside.Last month, 10News reported on a two-day party on July 4 at a home on Tecolote in Fallbrook. The owners showed pictures of the extensive damage caused by the party.Deputies said Araujo organized that Fallbrook party, and they believe he is connected to a party at another Fallbrook home on Daisy Lane.An estimated $1,500 worth of damage was done to a home in San Marcos due to an illegal party."The party is over for him," said Golling. At $5 per person, deputies said Araujo and his friend made a lot of money throwing the parties."It's not fair to neighbors, and to the property managers that have to repair the damage afterwards," said Golling.Araujo was charged with trespassing, burglary and vandalism.Deputies said when Araujo was arrested last weekend he was already on probation -- for the same crime he is being charged with.
