CORONADO, Calif. -- Coronado Police and federal law enforcement agencies are investigating threats made against four local schools.Police confirm the threats were made in two posts Thursday on Craigslist and another on Friday. The posts target several schools: Village Elementary and Silver Strand Elementary in Coronado; Cabrillo Elementary and Bay Point Pre-school Near Liberty Station in Point Loma."This is terrorism. This is absolute terrorism against our Navy and against our kids," said Coronado resident, Maryke Davis. The poster claims to hate the U.S. military in general, the U.S. Navy in particular, and asks terrorists to attack the schools and its children in October."They scoped out the school? I went to school there," said Stanley Davis, now in middle school who once attended Silver Strand Elementary. The posts show photographs of the schools and ask about the use of automatic weapons or bombs."We're two blocks from the school that they say they're going to destroy, so it's kind of disturbing," Davis added.Coronado Police officials say, while it could be someone just spouting off, they take all threats of this nature seriously.Police said there is no imminent threat because school is out for the summer for most of the schools.People use Craigslist to buy, sell, trade or rent just about anything. But now authorities want to know who's using the site to threaten schools."I think if we all stand together, you cannot just leave this to the police or authorities if we all stand together we've got a better chance against this," Coronado resident Viridiana Davis said. The posts are hateful; the captions are frightening, including one that states: ‘Coronado elementary schools to be destroyed.’"It's just shocking that someone would do something like this," said Viridiana Davis.
