Adele was the big winner at last year's Grammy Awards. Check out the major award nominees this year.

Black Keys -- The Black Keys are one of several artists nominated for six Grammys, including album and record of the year, and Dan Auerbach is also up for producer of the year.

Frank Ocean -- He made headlines this year as the first openly gay rap/hip-hop artist, but Frank Ocean's six Grammy nominations for his first album, "Channel Orange," show he's a musical force to be reckoned with. Ocean is up for best new artist.

Fun. -- New to the music scene this year, Fun. is nominated for record of the year for its pop anthem "We Are Young" as well as album of the year and best new artist.

Jack White -- The former White Stripes member scored big with his album "Blunderbuss," which is up for album of the year and best rock album, as well as best rock song for "Freedom at 21."

Jay-Z and Kanye West -- This rap powerhouse grabbed six nominations, both for songs with each other and other artists like Rihanna, Frank Ocean and Young Geezy.

Mumford & Sons -- Another artist with six Grammy nominations, Mumford & Sons are up for album of the year, best rock performance, best rock song, best Americana album and other awards.

Taylor Swift -- A Grammy favorite, Taylor Swift is up for record of the year for her breakup anthem "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" and her song from "The Hunger Games" soundtrack, "Safe and Sound."

Kelly Clarkson -- The "American Idol" winner's song "Stronger" is up for record of the year, song of the year and best pop solo performance, while her album of the same name is nominated for best pop vocal album.

Alabama Shakes -- They played their first-ever road gig less than two years ago, and now the Alabama Shakes are up for best new artist, best rock performance and and best recording package.

Gotye -- Another newcomer, Gotye's collaboration with Kimbra "Somebody That I Used To Know" is nominated for record of the year and best pop duo/group performance, while his album "Making Mirrors" is up for best alternative music album.

Hunter Hayes -- This 21-year-old country singer is up for best new artist as well as best country solo performance for his song "Wanted."

The Lumineers -- Another Indie rock sensation gone mainstream, The Lumineers are up for best new artist as well as best Americana album for their self-titled debut.

Grammy Snubs -- "Beliebers" will have to wait another year for heartthrob Justin Bieber to score his first Grammy nomination after the pop sensation was shut out of this year's Grammys -- again.

It was no "Roman" holiday for Nicki Minaj, who came up empty despite the commercial success of this year's "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded."

Another heartbreaker for teen girls, boy band sensation One Direction also received no Grammy nominations this year despite the success of the British quintet's catchy tune "What Makes You Beautiful."
