City Council Confirms Nomination Of Robert Gleason

SAN DIEGO -- The City Council Monday unanimously confirmed Mayor Jerry Sanders' nomination of Robert Gleason to the nine-member San Diego County Regional Airport Authority board.Gleason is chief financial officer and general counsel for Evans Hotels, which owns and operates The Lodge at Torrey Pines, the Catamaran Resort Hotel and the Bahia Resort Hotel.He will serve out the remainder of Alan Bersin's term, which expires in 2011. Bersin resigned as the Airport Authority board's chairman after being named the Southwest border czar by U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.
Sanders previously nominated attorney John Davies for the Airport Authority spot, but he withdrew his name prior to a scheduled hearing before the City Council last week.
