Razor Blades Found In Sand, Man Cuts Foot

SAN DIEGO -- Lifeguards found 10 to 12 razor blades buried in the sand at Bonita Cove on Mission Bay after a man stepped on one and suffered a severe cut to his foot, according to Stacy LoMedico, Director of the San Diego City Parks and Recreation Department.The incident happened about noon today near a picnic bench at Bonita Cove which is South of the Hilton Hotel on Mission Bay.LoMedico said Parks Department staffers searched the area with metal detectors and found no more. They also decided to search several other nearby shoreline parks and playgrounds, but found nothing.
Police and Lifeguards are investigating in an effort to discover the source of the blades.
