6 Arrested After Shots Fired At Liquor Store

SAN DIEGO -- Six gang members are in custody Thursday on suspicion of stealing from a Logan Heights liquor store and opening fire on the establishment, police said.The shooting at Mullen's Liquor, 3011 Imperial Ave. was reported at 11:07 p.m. Wednesday, San Diego police Officer Brad Ruff said.The suspects took some chips without paying for them, then fought with a security guard who tried to stop them before they got into a vehicle and drove off, Ruff said.They returned a short time later, according to Ruff, who said one of them fired two rounds from a handgun at the business while the group yelled gang slogans.No one was injured in the shooting.Police later found the getaway vehicle a short distance away, along with all six suspects, who were arrested after being positively identified by witnesses, Ruff said. Their names were not immediately released.A recently fired .38 caliber revolver was recovered, according to Ruff.The alleged gang members were arrested on suspicion of robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, and parole violations.
