2 sought in purse snatching incident

Incident occurred in Grossmont Center parking lot

LA MESA, Calif. - La Mesa police Tuesday were on the lookout for two men wanted in connection with a purse-snatching in the parking lot of Grossmont Center.

A woman was with her children in the parking lot at 5500 Grossmont Center Drive about 6:30 p.m. Monday when a tan 90s-model two-door Saturn with two men inside approached, according to a police statement.

The passenger in the Saturn leaned out his window and grabbed the woman's purse, dragging her a few feet before she let go of it, police said. The woman received hospital treatment for a wrist injury, police said.

Both the passenger and the driver of the Saturn were described as black men around 18 to 20 years old. The passenger had short hair, police said, adding the victim gave no further description of the driver.

Anyone with information about the purse snatching was asked to call police at (619) 667-1400 or San Diego County Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
