2 sisters injured in CV drunk driving crash

CHULVA VISTA – A suspected drunk driver ran a red light and slammed into a minivan in Chula Vista, injuring two sisters overnight Wednesday. 
 
The collision occurred at around midnight at the intersection of Palomar Street and Broadway. 
 
According to Chula Vista police, a man ran a red light in his pickup truck and smashed into the side of a minivan carrying a mother and her two daughters. 
 
An 11-year-old girl was taken to Rady Children’s Hospital. Her 16-year-old sister was taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital. Their conditions were not confirmed. The mother was not hurt. 
 
The driver of the truck was also not injured. He booked on drunken driving charges. His name was not released.
