Suspects fled after an SUV pulled up

SAN DIEGO - Two masked men tried to rob an employee at a Kearny Mesa taco shop at gunpoint early Friday but aborted their plan when they saw an SUV pull up, police said.

The robbery attempt at Rolando's Taco Shop in the 4400 block of Convoy Street was reported at 4:06 a.m., said San Diego police Officer Gerry Waclawek.

The men entered through the business's back door and abruptly fled the same way when a white SUV pulled up in front of the taco shop, he said, noting there was no monetary loss.
