Two people were injured after a car crashed in Boulevard.
The incident occurred just after 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. California Highway Patrol Officer Mitchel Sanchez told 10News the vehicle went off the side of eastbound Interstate 8, near Ribbonwood Road.
Sanchez said the vehicle crashed into the center divide, sustained damage and came to rest on Ribbonwood Road under the freeway.
The vehicle then started to catch on fire. Good Samaritans staying at a nearby motel heard the crash, saw the fire and pulled the driver and passenger out of the car before it became fully engulfed.
"If they wouldn't have been here, then more than likely it would have been catastrophic for the occupants of the vehicle," said Sanchez.
The two were airlifted to Sharp Memorial Hospital with moderate to major injuries.
