CHULA VISTA, Calif. - Two small boys darted out into a Chula Vista roadway and were hit, but neither sustained life-threatening injuries, police said Saturday.
Witness told police the driver was headed west through a green light at the intersection of East H Street and Buena Vista Way, when the 9- and 13-year-old boys ran south into the vehicle's path shortly before 8:30 p.m. Friday, according to Chula Vista police Lt. Don Redmond said.
The driver was unable to stop and struck the two boys, Redmond said.
Both boys were taken to Rady Children's Hospital to be treated for their injuries, which were not believed to be life-threatening, he said.
East H Street was temporarily closed and traffic was detoured around the intersection following the crash, police said.
