Authorities Trying To Identify Dead Transient

SAN DIEGO -- Authorities are trying Monday to determine the identity of a transient found dead over the weekend near a freeway offramp in the Nestor area.The body of the man, who was white, was found Sunday morning in the 1900 block of Palm Avenue, near an Interstate 5 offramp, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.A friend called 911 to report that the man was not breathing, the Medical Examiner's Office reported. San Diego police officers responded and confirmed the death at 7:32 a.m., according to the Medical Examiner's Office.The cause of death was pending.
