UPDATED: 11:35 am PDT July 3, 2009

A rock was thrown through a window at a middle school in an apparent burglary, a San Diego sheriff's spokesman said Friday.

A burglary at La Pressa Middle School at 1001 Leland St. was reported at 12:30 a.m., said Sgt. Greg Hampton.

A witness reported seeing five people leave the school carrying computers, he said.

Responding deputies found a rock that had been thrown through a window, but they did not find any suspects, and a school official could not confirm any loss, Hampton said.
