A woman accused of being drunk when she led Carlsbad police on a 10-minute freeway chase was behind bars Thursday, a police lieutenant said.

Carol Enquist, 56, allegedly refused to pull over about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday and led a Carlsbad police officer on a brief chase on southbound Interstate 5 near La Costa Avenue, driving up to 60 mph and weaving in and out of traffic lanes, said Carlsbad police Lt. Marc Reno.

About 10 minutes later, Enquist stopped on the Del Mar Heights Road offramp and was taken into custody, he said.

She was booked into Vista jail on suspicion of drunken driving and felony evading a police officer.
