Woman Carjacked At Gunpoint In Cherokee Point

SAN DIEGO -- A woman parking her car in Cherokee Point was carjacked at gunpoint early Thursday morning by a young man and woman who also took the victim's purse before driving off, police said.The incident in the 3600 block of 36th Street was reported around 12:30 a.m., according to San Diego police Officer Brad Ruff.The victim said the man approached her driver's side window and pointed a gun at her, then ordered her to hand over her purse and get out of the vehicle, Ruff said.
Both suspects then got into the vehicle and drove off, according to Ruff, who said the victim was not hurt.The male suspect was described as Hispanic, around 18 or 19 years old, 5 feet 4, with a shaved head and a piercing on his chin. His female accomplice also appeared to be Hispanic and around 18 or 19, Ruff said.They were last seen driving off eastbound in the victim's brown, four- door 2001 Dodge Neon, California license plate No. 4POE656.
