Lebron James Moves Basketball Camp To UCSD

LeBron James is moving his King's Academy summer basketball camp from his hometown of Akron, Ohio, to the campus of the University of California, San Diego.

The NBA MVP and star of the Cleveland Cavaliers has scheduled his camp, for boys and girls between 8 and 18, for July 24-28.

Moving the King's Academy gives kids in another part of the country the chance to experience it, camp director Damon Haley said Monday.

"He's a guy who's a family guy, and he's a guy who needs a vacation in the offseason, so that's where San Diego came into the realm of possibility," said Haley, who also mentioned the number of courts at UCSD.

The cost is $650 for overnight campers and $510 for day campers.

"We go from 9-9 three of five days," Haley said. "It's a pretty rigorous schedule. We named it Academy for a reason. If you're a ballplayer and you have an appetite for basketball, you'll be satisfied. If you're coming in just to kind of hang out with LeBron, you might find days four and five arduous."
