Police Investigate Homemade Bomb Explosions

SANTEE, Calif. -- Investigators sought Friday to determine who set off several home-made explosive devices in a parking area outside an East County church.The pastor of Calvary Chapel on Summit Avenue in Santee called the San Diego County Sheriff's Department shortly before noon Friday to report finding shattered glass and scorches on the asphalt in the lot, bomb-arson Detective Anthony Portillo said.Investigators determined that the Molotov cocktail-type devices likely exploded Wednesday evening or Thursday morning, Portillo said.
No threats were received in connection with the incident, and authorities have identified no suspects or witnesses.
