Two men and two women were behind bars Wednesday after an officer conducted a traffic stop and found several fraudulent credit cars and illegal drugs inside the vehicle, a police sergeant said.

William McNamara, 49, of Vista, Joanne Christmas, 29, also of Vista, Jennifer O'Brien, 23, of Camino, Calif., and Michael Lazar, 41, of Mesa, Ariz. could be arraigned as early as Wednesday on charges, ranging from possession of altered credit cards and burglary to possession of controlled substances and stolen property, according to jail records.

The four were arrested during a traffic stop in Oceanside Sunday afternoon, Oceanside police Sgt. Kelan Poorman said.

Patrol officers were alerted to keep an eye out for the group's vehicle after one of them attempted to use a fake credit card at the Ralph's grocery store at 1702 Oceanside Blvd. around 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Poorman said.

A store employee called police to report the incident and gave a description of the group's vehicle, he said.
