A driver involved in a deadly crash on State Route 67 will be charged with manslaughter, 10News reported.

Witnesses said Melvin Pearless and a driver of a BMW were racing north on SR-67 toward Ramona when Pearless crashed head-on into another car.

The driver of that car, 25-year-old Alexandria Drake, was killed. Drake's two-week-old daughter was in the backseat of the car but was not injured.

Pearless is scheduled to appear in court Thursday.

If convicted, he faces up to six years in prison.

Authorities have not located the driver of the BMW who left the scene.
