A man was found dead Monday inside a vehicle parked outside a Spring Valley apartment complex.

Someone called 911 around 7:45 a.m. and reported a man who appeared to be unconscious was in a vehicle parked outside the Chevy Chase Apartments in the 3700 block of Fairway Drive, San Diego County sheriff's Lt. Julie Sutton said.

Deputies went to the scene and found that the man was dead, she said.

Homicide detectives are investigating.
