Young Girl Bitten By Rattlesnake Flown To Hospital

JAPATUL VALLEY, Calif. -- A 6-year-old girl, who was bitten by a rattlesnake, was flown to Children's Hospital in San Diego Friday night.10News reported the incident occurred about 7:45 p.m. and that the girl's father killed the snake.The little girl was airlifted to the hospital in a Mercy Air medical helicopter from an area near Japatul Valley Road and Japatul Vista Lane in the East County.CalFire spokesman, Nick Schuler, said the little girl was visiting a friend's home and was playing in the backyard of the home when she tried to pick up the snake and it bit her once on the left thumb.Her condition was not immediately available.
