SAN DIEGO -- Two men wanted for several convenience store robberies were at large Sunday, police said. The men are suspected of robbing two ampm convenience stores Friday night, said police spokeswoman Monica Munoz. Police also believe one of suspects robbed the same convenience store earlier this month, she said.
On May 2, a robber entered an ampm on Black Mountain Road and Mira Mesa Boulevard armed with a handgun, Munoz said. The suspect did not harm anyone and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes. Around 11:55 p.m. Friday two men -- one was armed -- robbed the same store and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, she said. About 30 minutes earlier, two men robbed the ampm on 12033 Scripps Summit, according to police. The masked robber produced a semi-automatic handgun and ordered the clerk to give him some cigarettes and the cash in the register, Munoz said. The two men fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and several cartons of cigarettes. The men fled in a red Ford Ranger pickup or Toyota pickup truck, according to police. The suspect descriptions and getaway vehicle are the same in Friday night's cases and police believe one of the men was involved in all three robberies, she said. Police have security camera photos of the two men who robbed the ampm stores on Friday.
