A Foothills Christian High School teacher accused of sending lewd photos of himself to a 16-year-old student pleaded not guilty Monday to three counts of distributing harmful material to a minor.

Evan Mathew Stecklair -- who is out of custody on $50,000 bail -- was ordered to stay away from the alleged victim.

El Cajon Judge Charles Ervin scheduled a June 4 readiness conference and a June 16 preliminary hearing.

Prosecutors allege Stecklair, 26, text-messaged photos of his private parts to the student last month.

Stecklair faces a maximum of four years and four months in prison if convicted, said Deputy District Attorney Heather Trocha.

The defendant's employment status was not immediately clear.
