SAN DIEGO -- Three masked thieves robbed a University City bank Friday, police said.

The bandits entered the Washington Mutual branch office in the 4100 block of Governor Drive shortly after 11 a.m. and demanded cash from tellers, according to San Diego police.

The robbers fled to the east in a black sport utility vehicle driven by a woman, SDPD information officer Monica Munoz said.

The thieves wore ski masks over their faces.
