SAN DIEGO -- A man who attacked six Asian women might have more victims in the community, 10News reported."He's clearly a monster," Robert Sutton said. "It’s heartbreaking."Sutton and Kim Tran are part of the Vietnamese American Memorial Association and report that at least seven women have called anonymously to report being attacked.
"Seven think it maybe have been him," Sutton said. Both Sutton and Tran believe Asian woman fear going to the police and are afraid to tell their families.Tran explained that in Vietnam it is likely a man will divorce his wife if she were sexually assaulted, so women will do anything to hide the fact."She's been raped, she's been dirty. Her own children can't even accept that idea. They feel like their mom is dirty," Tran said."There's one woman specifically that Kim told me about. She had been assaulted in her garage and she went to live with some relatives so her husband wouldn't know about it," Sutton said. When asked why, Sutton said, "She had bruising on her face.”Many in the community said the suspect's description is etched in their minds. It is definitely at the top of Ron Warren's mind. He is a security guard who patrols a shopping plaza populated by Asian stores."5'6", 160 pounds," security guard Warren said, in describing the suspect. There are fliers of the suspect posted around the shopping center and the more people who see the flier, the better, he said. But, nothing will get better, Sutton and Tran said, unless victims start talking."If they don't come forward, someone else will get hurt," Sutton said.
