Woman Sentenced For Craigslist Sex Trafficking

SAN DIEGO -- A young woman who helped recruit girls to pose for racy photos, which were then placed on craigslist.com to solicit prostitution, was sentenced Monday to 18 months in federal prison.Jessica King, 20, pleaded guilty Jan. 20 to conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking of children and coercion and enticement of a juvenile into prostitution.Her co-conspirators, Christopher Black and Jordan Arnold, both 21, pleaded guilty on the same day to the same charge.
Black was sentenced to 68 months in custody. Arnold is scheduled to be sentenced May 18 by U.S. District Judge Larry Burns.According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Christopher Tenorio, Black admitted recruiting a juvenile to work for him as a prostitute between Aug. 15-Oct. 11, 2007.Black also admitted taking photographs of the juvenile wearing lingerie and in provocative poses, which were then placed in ads posted on the Internet to solicit dates.The dates, however, were prostitution "johns" who responded to the ads and made arrangements to have sex with the juvenile in exchange for payment, according to the prosecutor.Tenorio said Black also admitted driving the teen to and from hotels where she performed the prearranged acts of prostitution.
