SAN DIEGO -- A suspected drunk driver crashed a sedan into two parked cars on the driveway of a Mission Hills home early Thursday morning but he and his passenger escaped serious injury, police said. The sedan crashed into two vehicles parked in the driveway of a house in the 2400 block of Arista Street around 4 a.m., said San Diego police Sgt. Ramona Hastings. The sedan hit the corner driving at, what police say, was at least 60 miles per hour and crashed into the vehicles. The car landed upright on its hood against the home.Homeowner Greg Davis told 10News reporter Jennifer Jensen, "[I] saw a young man laying on the ground curled up and bleeding badly and I heard somebody in the background just yelling, 'you're gonna be OK, you're gonna be OK,' and I told them I was calling 911. [I] ran in the house and called 911 and then I got the family together. [We] came around the front of the house and by the time I got around the front of the house they were gone."The two men were staying at a friend's house down the block and took a dark-colored Hyundai for a joyride, Jensen said. The owner of the car is the mutual friend's stepfather, who is out of town on his honeymoon. Earlier, the stepson said he wasn't planning on telling his stepfather about the incident but 10News has since learned that the owner of the vehicle has been notified. The driver and passenger were taken to a hospital in police custody, Hastings said. She did not know specifics about the injuries but said they were not serious.
