Three people were hospitalized Monday with injuries they suffered when a suspected drunk driver from Escondido struck their vehicles in Laguna Beach, police said.

The accident on Pacific Coast Highway just south of Camel Point Drive was reported at 5:32 p.m. Sunday, said Sgt. Eric Lee of the Laguna Beach Police Department.

Eric Anwyl, 21, of Escondido, was driving his BMW M3 when it struck a moving vehicle and then hit two parked vehicles, he said.

Three people -- a man and a woman in the moving vehicle and a woman who had been in a parked vehicle -- were transported to local hospitals, he said, adding that their injuries were not regarded as life-threatening.

Anwyl was uninjured. He was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI and taken to jail, Lee said.
