Mira Mesa Woman Refuses Order To Leave Foreclosed Home

UPDATED: 6:30 pm PDT March 12, 2009

A Mira Mesa realtor and so-called short-sale specialist who could not prevent the foreclosure of her own home is once again defying her bank and the courts.

Four months ago, June Reyno chained herself to the front of her home, trying to demonstrate that she was not going to be evicted from her home.

Reyno has called the single-story house in Mira Mesa home for 20 years.

She is still at the home, but this time she is not in chains -- at least not yet.

As of Thursday, Reyno has been notified to evict, but she still said she isn't going anywhere.

Sheriff's deputies arrived at her home Thursday morning.

Reyno said, "They pulled me out of bed to answer the door."

Deputies were accompanied by a locksmith and the bank-assigned real estate broker to change the locks in order to lock her out.

Reyno took matters into her own hands by breaking a window to get inside.

"I'm here, and I'm here to stay," said Reyno.

Reyno said she wanted to send a message that she's not going anywhere, and she is prepared to pay the consequences.

"I’m willing to go to jail, and if they think I’m committing a criminal act in defending my home, then oh well," said Reyno.

10News spoke to Jeff Wagner, the real estate broker for the agency representing the bank.

Wagner said Reyno legally lost her home when it foreclosed on her in February of last year.

He said Reyno is trespassing and her belongings will be removed from the home sometime in the next week.
