Bicyclist Struck By Pickup Truck, Injured

SAN DIEGO -- A bicycle rider struck from behind by a pickup truck on SeaWorld Drive suffered head injuries Monday, police said.The accident near Friars Road was reported at 8:23 a.m., and one eastbound lane was closed to accommodate the investigation, San Diego police Sgt. Art Campa said.The injured rider was taken to UCSD Medical Center, but his name and condition were unavailable.Campa said an eastbound pickup driver looked down to pick up something and drifted into the bike lane, hitting the cyclist from behind. Officers may cite the truck driver for not paying attention, he said.
