Father Of Sailor Accused In Tijuana Attack Speaks

POSTED: 5:32 pm PST February 10, 2009
UPDATED: 6:33 am PST February 11, 2009

The father of a sailor accused of attacking two prostitutes in Tijuana spoke about his son's arrest Tuesday.

Joshua Dockery, 27, and 22-year-old Jarrett Monzingo were taken into custody last Thursday.

Both men are accused of stabbing a prostitute, choking another prostitute and stabbing a hotel employee.

Dockery is from Runnemede, New Jersey, across the river from Philadelphia.

Dockery's father, Waddell, said that he is worried sick.

"As much as I've heard, I've been sitting by the phone all day long. They said they were going to call," said Waddell Dockery.

Dockery and Monzingo were formally charged with attempted murder and assault, and will be tried by a judge.

However, some legal experts said it could take years before a trial begins.

Monzingo is from Cabool, Mo., near Springfield.

Both men are being held in the La Mesa prison in Tijuana.
