Man Killed Walking Across Street

LAKESIDE, Calif. -- Officials Thursday identified a pedestrian fatally struck by a pickup truck in Lakeside as 48-year-old Christopher Raymond Magness.The Santee man was struck by a Dodge Ram in the 11000 block of Woodside Avenue around 7 p.m. Wednesday, according to San Diego County sheriff's Sgt. Scott Hill."Apparently, he did not look before crossing the roadway and walked into oncoming traffic," the San Diego County medical examiner's office reported.
He died at the scene.Charges are not pending against the driver of the pickup truck, the Medical Examiner's Office reported.
