On Sept. 27, 2007, the Arc of San Diego attended the Waxie Sanitary Supply Customer Appreciation Day, where they had various venders demonstrating their products.

Arc employees in attendance were impressed with the waterless urinals being demonstrated, due to the potential water savings and the Commercial Voucher Incentive Program offered through the San Diego County Water Authority.

The Arc of San Diego was able to replace all of the urinals in its facilities through the voucher program. The only expense to The Arc of San Diego was installation, as the cost of the urinals was covered by the vouchers.

The savings of water per urinal per year is 40,000 gallons, as stated by the manufacture.

By installing 21 waterless urinals, The Arc of San Diego will be saving 840,000 gallons of water each year.
