Solo Crash Knocks Power Out In East County

LAKESIDE, Calif. -- An outage blamed on a suspected drunken driver who crashed into a power pole left more than 350 East County addresses without electricity overnight, San Diego Gas & Electric Co. reported.The accident at Westhill Drive and Marilla Drive in Lakeside occurred around 9 p.m. Sunday.No one was seriously hurt, according to the California Highway Patrol, which reported that drunken driving was suspected.
A total of 367 SDG&E customers in the area, including parts of Lakeside and Bostonia, were without electricity through Monday morning. Power was restored to all affected neighborhoods by 6:30 a.m., according to the utility.
