UPDATED: 6:17 pm PDT September 18, 2008

The manager of a North County sober-living facility was in custody Thursday on suspicion of drug possession and other narcotics-related offenses, police said.

Detectives arrested 35-year-old Susan Betty Faulhaber on Wednesday at her apartment on the grounds of Serenity Palms in the 900 block of North Fig Street in Escondido, Lt. Craig Carter said.

While searching the residence, officers found 3.5 grams of methamphetamine and hypodermic needles, according to Carter. The contraband was within reach of Faulhaber's three young children, he said.

Also arrested was 37-year-old Thomas Vincent Huff, Faulhaber's live-in boyfriend and the father of one of her children, Carter said.

Both suspects were booked into county jail on suspicion of narcotics offenses and child endangerment. They were scheduled to be arraigned at Vista Courthouse on Friday afternoon.
