An electrical problem in the garage of a Granite Hills home is to blame for a fire that caused about $500,000 in damages, a sheriff's official said Wednesday.

The two-alarm blaze in the 2400 block of Euclid Avenue erupted about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to a Heartland fire dispatcher.

San Diego County sheriff's Lt. Anthony Ray said that the value of the home, which was destroyed in less than 30 minutes, was estimated at $500,000.

No injuries were reported. However, four renters, who were not home at the time of the fire, were displaced, according to Ray.
