SAN DIEGO -- A 28-year-old man was shot to death in Emerald Hills over the weekend, police said Monday.

Andre Gorsuch and an unidentified companion were standing next to his parked vehicle in the 700 block of Bollenbacher Street shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday when a dark-colored sports utility vehicle pulled up and someone inside fired multiple shots, San Diego police Lt. William Stetson said.

Gorsuch was wounded and died at Scripps Mercy Hospital at 9:49 p.m., Stetson said, adding that his companion was not hurt.

The dark-colored SUV was last seen headed southbound on Bollenbacher Street, he said.

The motive for the shooting was unclear.
